By performing the command Approve assignment, the values in the columns ACTIVE_STATE and REQUESTED_STATE immediately change.
When using Strategic Parts Management a set of rules can be created, which specifies, for example, when a part may be exported (see Section 4.12.2.1.7, “ Export condition - plinkgroups.cfg -> Block [Role_name] -> Key "EXPORTRESTRICTION" ”).
In this rule, the ACTIVE_STATE column's value can be included.
For example, the rule could be:
If a part has an ERP_PDM_NUMBER AND in the ACTIVE_STATE column, the value is Released, then the part may be exported.
If the part has no valid ERP-Mapping, the status of the column ACTIVE_STATE is automatically set to Locked during a catalog update. In this state, no export is possible, as long as the state is clarified and verified in the Update manager.
In the following you can find the rules, according to which the value of ACTIVE_STATE and REQUESTED_STATE is set.

---|---|
If there is a complete existing ERP mapping (and this should be the case normally) a current dataset, under "ACTIVE_STATE", showing "Released", will keep this "Released" status further on. |
Following figure shows the status in PARTlinkManager: Current projects have the value Released in the column Active status and the value Updated in the column Requested status. All versioned projects show the value Expired in these columns.
